Byro WA Airborne magnetic and radiometric N/A N/A 83,855 line km; east-west Area 29,750 km2 400 m 60 m Data acquisition is expected to commence in the first week in April for the provision of magnetic and radiometric data over the Byro region of Western Australia. The survey covers parts of the Wooramel, Glenburgh, Yaringa and Byro 1:250 000 Map sheets.
Darkan-Wagin WA Airborne electromagnetic N/A N/A 1,127 line km; north-south 289 km2 300 m N/A Requests for quotation closed on 7 February for the provision of airborne electromagnetic data over the Dardanine palaeochannel in South-West Catchment region of Western Australia. The survey covers parts of the Darkan and Wagin 1:100,000 Map Sheets.
West Musgrave WA Gravity N/A 3,800 new stations. Over an approx area 24,340 N/A 2.5 km grid, east-west N/A Requests for quotation close on 2 April for the provision of gravity data in the West Musgrave region of Western Australia. The survey covers parts of the Bentley, Scott, Talbot and Cooper 1:250,000 Map Sheets.
Charters Towers Qld Gravity 100% 15,310 new stations. Over approx 133,500 km2 N/A 4.0 km grid in Area A; 2.0 km grid in Area B; N/A Data acquisition was completed on 6 September 2007. Final data for QA/QC testing is expected to be delivered to GA in April. The survey covers all or portions of the Einasleigh, Ingham, Clarke River, Townsville, Hughenden, Charters Towers, Bowen, Tangorin, Buchanan and Mount Coolon standard 1:250,000 Map Sheets.
Westmoreland Qld Airborne magnetic and radiometric 100% N/A 59,753 line km; north-south over an area of approx 20,710 km2 400 m 60 m Data acquisition was completed on 7 December 2007. Final data for QA/QC testing is expected to be delivered to GA in March. The survey covers parts of the Mornington, Westmoreland, Cape Van Dieman and Burketown 1:250,000 Map Sheets.
Cooper Basin East Qld Airborne magnetic and radiometric 17.8% N/A 214,352 line km; north-south over an area of approx 76,980 km2 400 m 60 m Data acquisition commenced on 9 January 2008. The survey covers parts of the Windorah, Eromanga, Quilpie, Thargomindah, Toompine, Bulloo and Eulo 1:250,000 Map Sheets.
Cooper Basin West Qld Airborne magnetic and radiometric 40.0% N/A 209,081 line km; north-south and east-west over an area of approx 74,410 km2 400 m 60 m Data acquisition commenced on 9 December 2007. The area of the survey with east-west flight lines covers the southern half of the Birdsville and Betoota 1:250,000 Map Sheets. The area of the survey with north-south flight lines covers the Canterbury (southern half), Barrolka (all), Durham Downs (all) and Tickalara (all) 1:250,000 Map Sheets.
Normanton Qld Airborne magnetic and radiometric N/A N/A 114,487 line km; east-west over an area of approx 40,840 km2 400 m 80 m The survey covers parts of the Galbraith, Walsh, Normanton and Red River 1:250,000 Map Sheets.
Westmoreland-Normanton Qld Gravity N/A 5,977 new stations. Over an approx area 95,620 km 2 N/A 4.0 km N/A The survey covers the mainland portions of the Mornington, Westmoreland, Burketown, Galbraith 1:250,000 Map Sheets and all of the Normaton, Walsh and Red River 1:250,000 Map Sheets.
Bass Strait Tas Airborne Magnetic 100% N/A 70,856 line km; east-west over an area of approx 44,320 km2 800 m 90 m Final data for QA/QC testing are expected to be delivered to GA in April. The survey covers Bass Strait between King and Flinders Islands.
North West Tasmania offshore Tas Airborne Magnetic 88.0% N/A 39,075 line km; east-west over an area of approx 27,512 km2 800 m 90 m Data acquisition commenced on 20 January 2008. The survey covers an area west of King Island.
South West Tasmania Offshore Tas Airborne Magnetic 100% N/A 24,218 line km; east-west over an area of approx 16,745 km2 800 m 90 m Data acquisition was completed on 6 March 2008. Final data for QA/QC testing was delivered to GA in March. The survey covers an area south west of Tasmania.
Central Arunta NT Gravity N/A 11,100 new stations. Over an approx area of 97,600 km2 N/A 4.0 km grid; east-west; with selected areas for infill at 500m to 2 km N/A Request for quotation closed on 26 March 2008. The survey covers parts of the Mount Peake, Barrow Creek, Napperby, Alcoota, Huckitta, Hermannsburg, Alice Springs, Illogwa Creek and Hay River 1:2500 000 Map Sheets.
Australia-wide N/A Airborne Geophysical tie-line 100% N/A 145,000 line km; north-south 75 km 80 m Data acquisition was completed on 14 December 2007. Data for QA/QC testing were delivered in March 2008.
Paterson N/A Airborne Electromagnetic 100% N/A 29,199 line km over an area of approx 45,189 km2 N/A N/A New data will be acquired over two areas separated by the Rudall River National Park. The southern area comprises approximately 9,109 line km of northeast-southwest flight lines spaced 1 and 2 km apart with a flying height of 120 m above ground level. The northern area comprises approximately 20,090 line km of east-west flight lines spaced 1, 2 and 6 km apart with a flying height of 120 mm above ground level. Data acquisition over the southern survey area was completed on 25 November 2007. Data acquisition is expected to re-commence in the Northern survey area in April 2008.
Pine Creek N/A Airborne electromagnetic N/A N/A 29,058 line km of airborne em; over an area of approx 72,412 km2 All areas are covered by flight lines spaced at 1,666 or 5,000 m N/A Data acquisition is expected to commend during 2008 dry season. New data will be acquired over one area east of Kakadu National Park and two areas west of Kakadu National Park. The Pine Creek survey is the second aem survey conducted under Geoscience Australia's Onshore Energy Security Program (OESP). Vist the GA website for further information on the OESP
