Key Priorities 2011-12
The key priorities for our agency in 2011-12 reflect the Australian Government's allocation of budget resources to the following six targeted outcomes:
- The next generation of minerals and energy resource assets to secure economic prosperity.
- More resilient and sustainable communities able to deal with the impacts of climate change and hazards.
- Improved and sustainable water management at regional and national scales.
- Improved sustainable management of Australia's environment and natural resource assets, and use.
- Improved decision making through the provision of expert and independent geoscience to Australian Government agencies for input to policy objectives.
- Stewardship of the national authoritative geoscience information base.
