Report for the 'Basic' gateway: 2005-04

This report analyses the ASDD gateway log files to provide the following summaries. See some explanations of terminology below each table.

Warning: As with any statistics, you must take care with their interpretation.

  • This table lists each different type of search that was used. It indicates how people are using the interface to build a complex search query.
  • Multiple search terms are shown separated by delimiter, e.g. abstract|title|title
  • Recall that the interfaces provide multiple rows for text-based queries. In addition, the Advanced interface provides Spatial, Date, and Controlled terms capabilities.
  • full-text ... Search anywhere in the document, i.e. all metadata fields.
  • full-text|full-text|full-text|+ ... They searched using the options "all of the words" or "at least one of the words".

The ASDD is an essential component of the Australian Spatial Data Infrastructure (ASDI). The gateway to the ASDD is maintained by Geoscience Australia on behalf of ANZLIC - the Spatial Information Council, as part of its broader Australian Government responsibility for the ASDI.
The individual ASDD nodes are implemented by State/Territory jurisdictions, Australian Government agencies, and commercial organisations (for details see all node descriptions). It is the responsibility of individual nodes to maintain their own metadata and nodes in accordance with the ANZLIC Metadata Guidelines and the ASDD Requirements and Standards.
