Brampton and Carlisle Islands
This Landsat 5 image shows Brampton (south) and Carlisle (north) Islands, located on the Great Barrier Reef off Mackay, Queensland. Land features (bands 245) and water (bands 123) were enhanced separately and combined in the final image.
Brampton Island is a popular holiday destination. It is mostly covered by national parklands and there is an underwater snorkel trail in the channel between the islands.
