Shoemaker Crater
This Landsat image features Shoemaker Crater, Lake Teague, Western Australia.
The Shoemaker impact structure is located in the central part of Western Australia near the town of Wiluna. The crater is about 30 kilometres in diameter and contains seasonal lakes that produce salt deposits as they evaporate during the dry season. It is approximately 1.7 billion years old and is regarded as Australia's oldest known impact structure.
