The town of Narrabri is located in northern New South Wales on the Namoi River. These images were acquired from the Landsat 5 Thematic Mapper sensor. True and false colour images for both a recent (2011), and an older (1988) scene are available below in high resolution JPEG format.

In this true colour swipe comparison, colours appear as close as they would naturally to the human eye. Urban areas appear grey to white, trees and grasslands as shades of green and yellow, and water bodies as dark blue to black. Residential development within Narrabri appears in the southern part of the town along the Namoi River, as well as a rural residential area east of town along Kaputar Road towards Mount Kaputar National Park. There is also a large industrial centre appears along the Newell Highway to support the rail freight. Notice the cotton fields north of town are in difference states of harvest between years.
