In this false colour swipe comparison, the extent of the urban areas of Nowra are highlighted in purple. Vegetation appears as light green to yellow, with drier areas appearing lighter. Water is displayed as dark blue to black. The region has seen significant residential growth, mostly in the areas of South Nowra, North Bomaderry and Cambewarra Village. Many residential properties have also appeared in southwest Nowra just north of the airport. Nowra’s business district has grown to fit around the Princes Highway, similarly in South Nowra. Notice the change to the vegetation southeast of the city, as there has been a local scale fire between the images effective the vegetation.
