In this false colour swipe comparison, urban areas appear as shades of cyan and purple, dry vegetation and soil as magenta to red, and wet vegetation or grassland as shades of green. Water bodies appear blue to black. While the township itself has grown relatively slightly over the last two decades, the bauxite mine to the west of the residential area has expanded significantly. Gunyangara settlement on Drimmie Peninsula also has noticeable infrastructure increase. This false colour image also highlights the difference in fire intervals between years to the nearby scrubland, with more recently burn vegetation appearing vivid red.
