In this false colour swipe comparison, urban areas appear as shades of cyan and purple, dry vegetation and soil as magenta to red, and forest or irrigated vegetation as shades of green. Parklands and ovals within the city appear as bright green. Water bodies appear dark blue to black. Suburban expansion has occurred in all directions prominently but most noticeably in east Ipswich around Augustine Heights, Brookwater and Springfield. Large infrastructure and residential growth is also observed inland around Logan City, north of the CBD with North Lakes and Mango Hill, and in the south around Undullah. The Port of Brisbane can be seen expanding many hundreds of metres further into Moreton Bay at the mouth of the Brisbane River.
