In this true colour swipe comparison, colours appear as close as they would naturally to the human eye. Urban areas appear grey to white, trees and grasslands as shades of green and yellow, and water bodies as dark blue to black. Urban development in cooktown has taken place in its southern streets towards Mt Cook National Park. There has been land clearing on the other side of Mt Cook in Quarantine Bay. The new Cooktown Developmental Road can be seen superseding the old road during this time. To the west of the town, many small farming properties appear along main road towards Cooktown Airport.
