In this true colour swipe comparison, colours appear as close as they would naturally to the human eye. Urban areas appear grey to white, trees and grasslands as shades of green and yellow, and water bodies as dark blue to black. Residential growth in the city of Mackay is most obvious in North Mackay, particularly in the suburbs of Glenella, Mount Pleasant and Beaconsfield. Further north the beach suburbs of Bucasia and Blacks Beach have also seen much development. In South Mackay the most noticeable new features are the new Airport and Business district. The increase in the sugar cane industry and farming surrounding the town is also quite marked.
