In this false colour swipe comparison, the extent of the urban areas of Colac are highlighted in red. Residential expansion has been dominantly southward into Elliminyt with a combination of both urban and rural-residential housing. New industry and commercial buildings have appeared in Colac East, and similarly just out of the city in the area of Colac West. Also notice the changing water level of Lake Colac, which is significantly lower during the 2009 image due to the prolonged drought. Lake Purdiguluc, in the top left of the image, appears to be completely dried up.
