- 2011 Mildura false colour
In this false colour swipe comparison, urban areas appear as shades of purple and white. Vegetation appears as green, blue, or yellow, with drier areas appearing lighter. Water is displayed as dark blue to black. Mildura has seen substantial residential growth over the last 23 years, particular in the southwestern and southern regions of the city. Expansion has also been significant in the satellite towns of Merbein, Irymple and Gol Gol. There is a large difference in the water volumes of nearby Lakes Ranfurly, Hawthorn and Gol Gol, as well as the Murray River, as the newer image was acquired shortly after the heavy rains of February 2011. This change is more noticeable in the true colour image.
