The city of Mandurah is located on the Peel-Harvey estuary approximately 70km south of Perth, Western Australia. These images were acquired from the Landsat 5 Thematic Mapper sensor. True and false colour images for both a recent (2011), and an older (1988) scene are available below in high resolution JPEG format.

In this true colour swipe comparison, colours appear as close as they would naturally to the human eye. Urban areas appear grey to white, trees and grasslands as shades of green and yellow, and water bodies as dark blue to black. Mandurah has seen remarkable growth in recent years, with large new residential plots in the areas of Halls Head, Greenfields and Wannanup amongst others. The appearance of coastal suburbs such as Secret Harbour and Singleton are contributing to the conurbanisation of Mandurah with Perth. The new man-made cannals around Mandurah Estuary and Dawesville Channel are also quite distinct. Additionally there is the construction of the Forrest Highway (opened in 2009) to the east of Peel-Harvey Estuary.
