Queensland Flooding
In the final weeks of 2010 and early 2011, much of Eastern Australia was inundated by widespread and devastating floodwaters.
In December 2010, in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, extensive flooding inundated large sections of the city and surrounding areas, resulting in evacuations from low lying areas.
The situation was similar in southeast and central Queensland where a series of tropical downpours left whole towns underwater and resulted in previously drought-affected dams rapidly filling and overflowing.
