The village lies in the centre of the image, left of the largely dry river bed which appears in pink. Water appears in blue, in small scattered areas.
The ETM Plus Sensor on board the satellite can detect infrared radiation which is generated by any form of heat. These 'hot spots' appear in red. They can be caused by elements such as fire, tin roofs, concrete slabs and cars.
The bright green areas indicate healthy grasses and agricultural cultivation. The pink/brown colours generally indicate bare soil.
