The Geologi Short Film Competition has closed for 2012 and the winners were announced at a ceremony in Canberra on 17 October.

The entries received were from around the country, including New South Wales, South Australia and the ACT. The short films explored the students' view of the world around them and included films on landforms, fossils, volcanoes, geysers, Douglas Mawson and natural hazards such as earthquakes and tsunami.

Thank you to all participants for entering our competition and congratulations to our finalists, runners-up and winners for 2012.

The Geologi short film competition is hosted by Geoscience Australia and the Australian Science Teachers Association to celebrate Earth Science Week.
