Exploration and Environmental Advice
Overview
This project provides technical advice under the Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage Act 2006 to the Department of Resources, Energy and Tourism and other government agencies and industry on petroleum exploration and environmental and marine issues as well as other upstream petroleum industry matters.

Achievements to date
- provide scientific advice to government on environmental and regional marine planning issues, including advice under the Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage Act 2006 regulations
- provide scientific advice to government on petroleum exploration under the Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage Act 2006, and other upstream petroleum industry matters including prospectivity and resource assessment
- provide advice to the Department of Resources, Energy and Tourism, other government agencies and industry, on petroleum industry activities in Australia, including delivery of Oil and Gas Resources of Australia.
