Geoscience Australia is a key partner in the National Flood Risk Information Program with responsibility for developing and implementing the National Flood Risk Information Portal.

The National Flood Risk Information Project (NFRIP) is developing national guidelines and standards relating to flood information. Part 1 of the program guidelines are now available.
As part of the National Flood Risk Information Project, Geoscience Australia will map flooding from satellite imagery across Australia from 1987 to the present. A proof of concept web service displaying three trial study areas of the service is now available to demonstrate satellite-based flood mapping.
