Summary of Most Recent Meeting - National Flood Risk Advisory Group
The National Flood Risk Advisory Group's (NFRAG) last meeting was held on 5 October 2012 at Mt Macedon, Victoria. It was held at the conclusion of a national flood workshop organised by NFRAG to workshop the national floodplain management manual and scope supporting technical guidelines. The workshop identified a number of "burning issues" which will be considered further by NFRAG out of session. The workshop also provided an opportunity to provide updates on other related initiatives, including work being led under the Australian-New Zealand Emergency Management Committee, the National Flood Risk Information Project and Australian Rainfall and Runoff. Representatives from all levels of government including each of the Jurisdictions, emergency services, insurance, research and Engineers Australia participated.
The NFRAG meeting agreed on follow up actions from the workshop and reviewed the work programme. It also provided an opportunity for members to receive updates on insurance, building codes and key developments in each of the Jurisdictions.
