Risk Assessment Measurement and Mitigation Subcommittee
The Risk Assessment Measurement and Mitigation Subcommittee acted as a working group and advisory body to the National Emergency Management Committee. The Risk Assessment Measurement and Mitigation Subcommittee reported on progress relating to the implementation of rigorous and systematic disaster risk assessments. It was a national forum for contributing to the improvement of risk management through the development and implementation of risk assessment practice and by focusing on natural disaster risk. In doing so it acknowledged and drew on the approach of each State and Territory to all hazards emergency risk management.
Geoscience Australia worked with the Risk Assessment Measurement and Mitigation Subcommittee to establish national risk analysis methodology and priorities to support consistent risk assessment and evidence based decision making.
