The Engineering, Economics and Exposure Project (E3P) aims to develop an understanding of what assets, business activity and people are exposed to severe events, how vulnerable they are to the hazard and what the consequences are from a potential hazard event or disaster.  To this end the project develops engineering, economic and social vulnerability models for the built environment that are representative of buildings, critical infrastructure and the economic activity associated with them.  In parallel, the project is also developing the National Exposure Information System, which is a national information system of infrastructure, business and demographic exposure.
