From 1 May 2011, under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act), Geoscience Australia is required to publish information in documents provided in response to FOI requests. Geoscience Australia will publish information in the disclosure log within 10 working days of giving the FOI applicant access to the information. The only exemptions will be information which falls into the categories listed under Section 8C of the Act.

The publication of such documents will be done through the portfolio Department of Resources, Energy and Tourism's (RET) Disclosure Log and will carry the FOI reference number "Geoscience Australia".

The FOI Act (s 11C(6)) requires information to be published in the disclosure log within 10 working days of giving the FOI applicant access to the information.

The information described in the disclosure log has been released by Geoscience Australia under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 and is available for public access.
