Geoscience Australia has released the data acquired on its recent marine survey to the Petrel Sub-basin off the Northern Territory coast.

The purpose of the survey was to gather pre-competitive geophysical and biophysical data on seabed environments within targeted areas of the Petrel Sub-basin to help facilitate an assessment of the CO2 storage potential in these areas of the basin. The survey was undertaken in collaboration with the Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS), as part of the Australian Government's National Low Emission Coal Initiative (NLECI). The Petrel Sub-basin Post Survey Report is available for free download as are the following datasets:
